The Milano Humble Beginnings
Giuseppe Impero Establishes the First Lasting Table
In a war-recovery Milan, master shoemaker Giuseppe Impero opened a tiny workshop with two apprentices. Lasting each pair of shoes on hand-carved cedar blocks, Giuseppe established the IMPERO rule: 'Correct fit is the base of poise.' Local patrons quickly spread word of shoes that required zero break-in period.
